XM8 LMG
Real-World Background: It's important to note that when the XM8 was first drawn up, it was considered to be an entire weapons system, not recluse in one specific role. Therefore, the designers decided to include a squad-support configuration in the various ways the XM8 could be outfitted. This particular set-up, the XM8 LMG, included a longer, heavier barrel for sustained fire and a bipod attachment for support. Slap in a 100-round drum magazine and the base AR has transformed into a weapon with a very different MO than before, a testament to the concept behind the XM8 system.
Notes for Usage: You can't get much more mobile a LMG than the XM8, so the game is appropriate in calling it a 'tactical' weapon. Lower damage, medium accuracy, and higher rate of fire. The iron sights are fairly decent, but this weapon doesn't seem to work all that well with them. The clip will last you through most engagements, but after a few of them you should check your ammo. Full auto is no problem for this gun, its recoil doesn't even make the initial firing a trouble.
Optics: An RDS is recommended for the XM8 LMG, mainly because it only enhances the guns capability, not that's its outwardly necessary. ACOG will work with the gun, but its benefits at the longer ranges start to diminish.
Prime Environment: Semi-Urban (Example: Base 2 on Nelson Bay)
