Rush

Rush M-COM

This game-mode is returning from Bad Company 1, there it was the only game-mode featured until around 3 months after release when Conquest was put into the game. The aim of the game is to: Defend or Destroy pairs of M-COM stations (labelled A and B) for as long as possible before reinforcements run out.  In Bad Company 2 Rush the attackers receive 75 respawn tickets, which replenish every time a pair of M-COMs is taken, and the defenders have infinite respawns.  The attackers win by destroying all the M-COMs  while the defenders win by depleting the attacker's tickets down to 0.  Once the match is over you will switch sides for the next game, so if you were attacking you go to defense, and vice versa.

Attacking Tactics

The most popular way of destroying the M-COMs is to plant a charge on it by going up next to it and pressing B for Xbox or circle for PS3.  M-COM stations can also be easily destroyed by using Destruction 2.0; this is where the building that the M-COM station is located in will fall down and crush the M-COM station.  This tactic works great on maps such as Africa Harbour and Port Valdez.  You can also destroy M-COM stations with tanks, mortars, grenades, C4, rockets and helicopter fire. These will all cause damage to the M-COM station and give you extra experience points. The tactic of using tanks to destroy the M-COM can be very useful if the opposing team is very good at defending the stations but are not great at destroying vehicles.  A single player using the assault kit and an all-kit weapon can take down the M-COM by placing C4, detonating it, then resupplying with an ammo pack a few times.

Defending Tactics

Defending is a lot simpler than attacking but it's vital that you are in a squad when playing rush. It is also advised that the players in your squad have differing kits. A medic is essential to revive friendlys once the charge has been planted; this is an advantage because they don't have to wait to respawn, giving you an advantage in numbers allowing you to defuse the charge. Another tactic is planting motion sensors and C4 in the building where the M-COM station is, once the motion sensor picks up an enemy in the base you know to blow the C4 thus removing the chance of the charge being planted.  Also, using smoke can be extremely helpful to defend from snipers when defusing.
